Success Stories

(1) Rajkumari was abandoned by her father and was left with her mum a rag-picker and five siblings to fend for themselves in a slum area located in Delhi. Being physically handicapped (mother) and migrated they were poor, so to feed a big family, her mum often borrowed money from people. One time she couldn’t pay her loan so the money lender, a man in his late fifties asked her to give him Rajkumari, her daughter in marriage, who was 14 years old. After a few months he sold the whole family to some other mean lender in Agra. A noble NGO rescued the whole family and brought them back to Delhi. Later they came to know that Rajkumari was 6 Months pregnant. After much counseling & rehabilitation, she decided to give birth to her baby for adoption. The man that ruined her life was still around.

Rajkumari came to ‘New Hope’ broken and without hope. New Hope Charitable Society’s Children’s Home took her in. She had never attended school but New Hope’s dedicated Volunteers (Tim & Jenny Grassley) gave her homeschooling and extra tuition and prepared her for 5th standard’s Entrance Exam of a regular school. Today Rajkumari is enrolled in a good school and always passes exams with 60% - 100 % marks.
